Teaches: Fundamentals of Celebrancy; Funerals
Kristine Bentz loves hearing and telling stories. As a Life-Cycle Celebrant and Home Funeral Guide, she bears witness to a radiant tapestry of life stories about her clients and their families. In 2009, Kristine received double certification in Funerals and Weddings from the Celebrant Foundation & Institute, where she now serves on the Funeral Celebrancy Development Committee. She also holds a Masters in Public Service Administration from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. After 20+ years of working in the public, non-profit and private sectors, Kristine founded Sweetgrass Ceremonies in Tucson, Arizona to bring peace and healing to people and their animal companions, especially during times of loss. While Kristine loves to compose and lead ceremonies to celebrate new life and love, she serves people most fluently at the end of life and after death. Her passion is reclaiming the practice of caring for our own after death and she is certified as a Home Funeral Guide by Final Passages in Sebastopol, California. She lives joyfully in co-housing with the love of her life, her Siamese kitties, and a white horse.
