Cynthia Reed received her Celebrancy diplomas from the International College of Celebrancy in Australia in 2002 and is one of the first five Celebrants certified in North America. She comes to Celebrancy after Cynthia Reed, Director of Academics, received her Celebrancy diplomas from the International College of Celebrancy in 2002, and her Masters in Celebrancy from the Celebrant Institute in 2005. She was one of the first five Celebrants certified in North America. She has performed a wide variety of ceremonies, including weddings, commitment ceremonies, funerals, community ceremonies, baby namings, adoption ceremonies, divorce ceremonies, and store openings. Cindy came to Celebrancy after spending over a decade as a trial lawyer, working for the U.S. Department of Justice, a large law firm in Manhattan, and in solo practice. She has taught as an adjunct professor at Brooklyn Law School, as an instructor at the University of Minnesota Law School, and as coach of the award-winning Columbia University undergraduate mock trial team. Cindy brings her academic background to the development of the Institute's celebrancy curriculum and its innovative online learning program. She holds B.A. and J.D. degrees from the University of Minnesota and a Master Online Teaching Certificate from the Illinois Online Network. She lives with her husband and their two daughters, adopted from China and Ethiopia, in Asheville, North Carolina.
